Early 19th Century Rosewood Dressing Stool

Early 19th Century Rosewood Dressing Stool

circa 1830 - 1840

Highly Unusual Victorian Rosewood Rectangular Stool

The recently re-upholstered rectangular stuff over seat is covered in a light pink and cream floral cotton pattern and finished to a narrow thumbnail moulding above a crisply carved leaf decorated frame.

The dressing stool is raised on four rounded tapered and carved legs that terminate on the original porcelain castors. The frame and legs are finely worked with neatly drawn floral and shell motifs surmounting the solid rosewood surface.

The dressing stool has many potential functions within the house, including but not excluding, bedroom seat, dressing stool seat, living room foot stool and finally a centre room tray table.

The frame design and quality are really interesting factors in the purchase of this piece for me.
