The inlaid and cross banded satinwood two-door bookcase above a secrétaire chest is fitted with lozenge-shaped gilt-brass grills, glass panels and a mahogany fitted shelf. The breakfront bookcase sits above a concealed fitted satinwood secrétaire drawer complete with a leather writing surface. Below there is a two door cupboard fitted with divisions to one side and a single fitted shelf to the other side.

The highly figured secrétaire chest has West Indian satinwood veneers cross-banded with tulipwood, ebony stringing with faded mahogany lozenge-shaped inset panels and satinwood cross-bandings. The secrétaire breakfront bookcase is fitted with the original oval shaped gilt brass handles, and stands on the original satinwood inlaid feet.
