circa 1770 - 1780
A diminutive George III 18th century period Cuban mahogany serpentine games table.
The serpentine veneered top opens to reveal a green baize playing surface and is supported by a single gate leg action to the rear. When the gate leg is used it reveals a concealed single oak lined drawer. The rounded moulded edge sits above the vertical cut butterfly matched veneers that make up the frieze. The crisply carved ears that decorate the protruding legs are chamfered to the back and shaped to the front. The card table retains a deep patina of age and colour with diminutive proportions.
The games table is rare in that its size is particularly petite and elegant and the games table retains a wonderful patina and colour.
