The tea caddy has book-matched blackthorn inlaid oysters to the front and top. The sides are inlaid with oval medallions of tulipwood and the back and inner lid has burr yew inlays. It has tear-drop bone escutcheons and a brass swing handle. The interior has an inlaid lid with a bone handle and contains traces of its original lining.
