The delicate scrolled reeding to the top of the chair is supported with a highly figured mahogany veneer. The rope-twist splat was made to celebrate Nelson’s victory at Trafalgar in 1805. The fine reeding has been repeated below the upholstery which is unusual, and the chairs stand on crisply ring turned legs.
There has been some restoration to the construction of the chairs. To conserve the chairs we had to replace some of the seat rails.
