The superb English 19th century timepiece has a single train fusée movement with a gilt dial and raised numerals cased in a drum head.

The two seated reading figures that flank the gilt drum head are each holding a book, one signed V.B. Fecit, No.25 Grafton Street, Soho.

The Regency clock sits on a rectangular white marble base with scrolled and mask appliqués surmounted by an eagle finial.
