Regency Period, Irish, Mahogany Single Pedestal, Tilt-Top Dining Table. Retaining its rich colour, the well figured top is raised above a substantial ring turned pedestal, ending with ‘hipped’ scrolled sabre legs, fitted with the original ‘Copes Patent’ brass castors. The table will seat eight people comfortably. N.B. The distinctive hipped scrolls to the top of the legs also feature on a table at Glin Castle, County Limerick, Ireland and is illustrated in ‘Great Irish Houses and Castles, by J. O’Brien and D Guinness – London 1992, p.152.
