circa 1825 - 1835
Rare early 19th century period Regency rosewood and brass mounted side table.
Three highly figured rosewood veneers are mounted on a gilt ormolu brass frame. The gilt brass frame is made with a crisply cast gallery. The gallery is cast with inverted anthemion floral decoration flanked by upturned gilt brass gadrooned button caps.
The three tier side table is raised on gilt brass hairy paw feet and stands well. The overall appearance of the gilt brass is mellow with 200 years of age. These pieces were copied extensively in the later part of the 19th century but early 19th century tables like this are rare.
