Attributed to GILLOWS OF LANCASTER & London
England
circa 1765
The chest on chest is unusual because of its small size and low height, concealing a flamed mahogany secretaire.
The chest has its original gilt brass handles and the back plates can be seen in a serpentine chest of drawers by Gillow of Lancaster. Ref. Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840 by Susan E. Stuart Vol. II Pg. 11 Plate 533.
