England
circa 1700
The 'camel-back' chair with upholstered sides a stuff over seat and cabroile legs to the front and down-swept legs to the rear. The front legs are crisply carved with 'C' scrolls and acanthus leaf decoration and stand on pad feet. The library armchair has only recently been re- covered and re-upholstered in a light blue damask fabric and the seat height is 44cm.
We do have images of the frame when we restored the chair and can confirm that the legs are original as well as the frame. Some minor replacements to the frame structure have been noted and improved or conserved with the rest of the chair.
