Queen Anne Walnut Chest – 18th Century


circa 1700 - 1710

The highly figured feather banded inlaid rectangular top is cross banded in burr walnut and centred with an oval quarter veneered book matched panel with half moon segments to the four corners. The cushion moulded top sits above two short and three long feather banded oak lined drawers that are fitted with the original locks, brass escutcheons and replaced ring pull drop handles. The sides are also matched to the top for inlay and cross banding and frame well figured butterfly veneers. The chest is raised on four later turned bun feet and is unrivalled for colour and patination.
