An exceptional pair of George III mahogany Inlaid bow and breakfront chests of drawers from the 18th Century. The well figured mahogany tops are cross banded with kingwood and boxwood stringing and sit above four long graduated drawers. The full length drawers are made with oak linings and the flamed mahogany fronts are inlaid with boxwood stinging. The graduated drawers are fitted with the original gilt brass handles and flanked by vertical inlays and a mahogany cross banding. The bow fronted breakfront drawers are well figured on the sides and raised on inlaid tapered block feet.

A true pair of chests of drawers are really unique and were not common place in the 18th century. The pairs of chests that were commissioned back in the day, were certainly made for wealthy people that had the luxury of space, within the household. Pairs of chests would of been placed within a drawing room, a large and grand bedroom or even a reception room.
