Mid 19th century period English oak, octagonal, desk top pillar box with brass fittings.
The solid oak octagonal top sits above applied figured oak mouldings. The pillar box is fitted with the original brass hinged flap and the brass flap is etched with the word 'LETTERS' and is still in working order.
The hinged door opens and is fitted with the original lock and the 'POST LEAVES' sign is screwed and fitted with the original brass frame.
The pillar box stands on figured oak mouldings and is of a good size. To the reverse the pillar box has two air holes to allow drying of damp letters.
