The rectangular tooled leather lined top is finished in the original red and crossbanded in mahogany. The desk is free standing with a generous kneehole width.
The frieze is fitted with two short and one long drawer above a fitted moulding. The mahogany lined drawers are full length with crisp dovetails retaining the original gilt brass 'Patent' locks. The mahogany turned knobs that adorn the desk are also original and complement the brass escutcheons.
