The highly figured quarter-veneered burr walnut top with rosewood and tulipwood crossbanding is really stunning. The seven graduated burr walnut drawers with the original turned walnut knobs stand on a walnut veneered plinth. Unusually the walnut wellington chest has very attractive walnut veneered sides which would have normally been made with plain un-figured straight grain veneers. The chest of drawers is very practical in design and functionality as well as being a good piece of English antique furniture.
