The chair is stamped 'HH' and carved in the solid by one of Gillows' best known carvers aka Henry Holmes. Henry worked for Gillows from 1805 to 1834, stamping his furniture 'HH'. The original castors are concealed at the front but can be seen on the back legs with more carving.
