England
circa 1800
The original glass plate has a shallow convex shape and is surmounted on an ebonised reeded slip which sits in a circular giltwood frame. The rosettes are crisply carved and the overall style of the mirror is more late Georgian than the 'Regency' convex frames that followed. The mirror has a wonderful colour and an untouched original gilt finish.
