Louis XVI Period Mahogany Tric Trac Games Table

Louis XVI Period Mahogany Tric Trac Games Table

circa 1790 - 1800

Late 18th century Louis XVI period mahogany tric trac games table.

The 18th century table has a highly figured mahogany top which is both detachable and reversible. The reverse is baized with a green lining for playing cards and other games and when the table top is completely removed it serves as a 'tric' trac' table.

The other main game is backgammon and this surface is finely inlaid with ebony and coloured bone inlays to provide the gaming board.

The games table is raised on four solid and tapered legs that support a figured frieze.

The frieze has one faux and one full length drawer to the front and the reverse. The gilt brass ring pull handles are original as are the gilt brass caps and castors.
