The rosewood top is a stunning veneer of exceptional quality and length and the size of the bookcase is impressive. The adjustable shelves with rosewood veneered fronts are original to the bookcase.
Literature
The bookcase is possibly from the workshops of Gillow. They were importers of timber and probably took the best cuts for their own business. The gilt brass gallery is the quality of a top 19th century workshop.
