The mahogany top sits above a fluted frieze and stands on fluted tapered legs with toupe block feet and oval capitals flanked by pierced fret brackets.
A similar form of side table was commissioned at Bigland Hall, Lancashire by George Bigland. Entries in Gillows ledger reveal that the firm supplied furniture for Bigland Hall throughout the 1780s.
The side table originally had a brass rail at the back.
