The Secretaire Bookcase is made by Gillows of Lancaster and bears the maker's impressed marks. The elegant glazing arrangement to the bookcase doors can be found illustrated in Thomas Sheraton's Directory. The beautifully panelled doors below reveal a bank of drawers giving the satinwood interior an unusual depth.
