The serpentine shaped mahogany top cross-banded with tulipwood, boxwood and ebony stringing is fitted above one long drawer with two banks of drawers either side of a kneehole cupboard door. The drawer fronts and cupboard door are cross banded with tulipwood, boxwood and ebony stringing. The cupboard is fitted with a shelf and is an unusual width for a kneehole chest as they tended to be overall smaller in scale and size. The drawers carry all the original locks as well as being fitted with the original gilt brass handles and escutcheons. This elegant Georgian kneehole chest stands on its original splayed bracket feet.
