18th Century Wine Cellaret

18th Century Wine Cellaret

circa 1770

The dome-top cellaret with West Indian satinwood oval panels is cross banded in mahogany and fine barber stringing. The satinwood panels are repeated to the front and sides and the cellaret carries the original fine gilded swan neck handles and oval beaded back plates. The top opens to reveal four lidded compartments for wine. This is an unusual feature but completely original. The caddy top cellaret is fitted to a well figured mahogany stand and terminates on tapered legs and shaped block feet.
