Gillows of Lancaster were one of England's most celebrated furniture makers. They were established in the early 18th century and produced the highest quality pieces for top houses in the country. The quality of this piece and many of its design details (including the unique gilt brass ring loop handles) are seen on know pieces of Gillows furniture.
