In the manner of GEORGE HEPPLEWHITE
England
circa 1785
A handsome set 18th Century Hepplewhite period mahogany dining chairs, comprised of six single dining chairs and two carvers. The dining chairs have a moulded shield-shaped back with a crisply carved centre vase-shaped splat, a 'Prince of Wales' plume above stiff leaf carving and inverted flutes, and a beautiful carved acorn to the top of the back splat. The carver dining chairs have shaped set-back arms above recently re-upholstered seats that are supported on H-stretchers and fine tapering legs.
The chairs are in remarkable condition with almost all the seat rails and chair block supports being original.
