The highly figured sofa table top has over the passage of time faded to the most beautiful honey colour rosewood. The floral crossbanding to the table top with stringing is the finest brass inlaid decoration of its type. The full lenght mahogany drawers with contrapartie inlay to the fronts is repeated on the reverse, with a solid rosewood gadrooned beading to the freize. The centre pedestal features concave gilt sides and sits on a rosewood brass strung platform base with four turned solid rosewood feet, sitting on hidden castors. The overall quality of this piece indicates that a very well established workshop would of had the clients, craftsmen and capital to complete such good piece of English furniture.
