Early 19th century Regency Virginia walnut wine cellarette of diminutive size.
The sarcophagus shaped cellarette lid is fitted with the original gilt brass ring-pull handle and lifts up to display three divisions for wine bottles. The top is supported on brass chains when opened.
The single solid rounded columns to the corners are raised above crisply carved paw feet and to the sides gilt brass lion's head ring pull handles which are original to the cellarette.
To the front of the piece the cellarette is fitted with the original lock with a key above a gilt brass etched plaque.
The wine cellarette is unusual being completely made in highly figured Virginia walnut and being made to such a small useful size.
