The dining chairs are inlaid with Greek key ebony designs, centred with flamed mahogany panels to the top rails above 'Klismos' X-shaped splats and centred on a flamed mahogany & ebony inlaid plaques and flanked by channelled up right supports. The dining chairs stand on sabre legs and ebony inlays to seat rails.
A similar set of twenty-four chairs were supplied by Gillow of Lancaster to the Brooke Family for Mere Hall, Knutsford, Cheshire in 1803.
The seat covers are in country house condition and will be re-upholstered at our cost when the buyer provides a fabric of choose. The chairs retain a good colour and patina.
