Early 19th Century Regency Period Rosewood Games Table

Early 19th Century Regency Period Rosewood Games Table

England

circa 1815

The table is slightly smaller than is typical for this form which, combined with the attractive shape and golden colour, certainly adds to the appeal of the table. The top has a central sliding section, the underside of which is a chess board, which opens to reveal a lower surface with an inlaid backgammon board. To either side are hinged flaps which open to reveal space for storing the games pieces and below is a basket in pleated silk.
