The secretaire bookcase is constructed from good quality figured mahogany with solid ebony beading throughout. The upper section has a cornice above two fifteen pane astragal glazed doors, opening to three mahogany faced adjustable shelves. In the base section, the deep secretaire drawer which retains the original brass pulls, opens to a well fitted interior with an arrangement of five fiddle back mahogany faced drawers with turned ivory pulls and eight satinwood faced pigeon holes and a baize writing surface. Below are two panelled doors which open to reveal three mahogany faced and oak lined pull out slides. The bookcase stands on the original of set shaped bracket feet and transports in three pieces.
Good original condition with working locks and key.
