circa 1785 - 1795
A fine George III Sheraton period 18th century mahogany inlaid table. The highly figured mahogany top is cross banded in tulipwood and boxwood stringing with re-entrant corners and mahogany and boxwood edging. The tulipwood and boxwood cross banding is repeated to all four sides with mahogany inlaid breakfront corners above an ebony and boxwood banding. The frieze is fitted with four drawer faces, two faux and one central drawer that can be accessed from either end. The singular full length mahogany lined drawer retains the original locks and gilt brass handles. The table top sits on a mahogany octagonal and boxwood inlaid pedestal above a mahogany moulding and out stretched mahogany inlaid legs. The small faded mahogany table retains a lovely colour and is raised on the original gilt brass caps and castors.
