A quite exquisite Regency mahogany adjustable Music Chair, made in circa 1815. The bowed cresting rail, carved with honeysuckle decoration, is raised above a lyre shaped splat inset with brass strings. The bowed front legs are finely carved with spiral reeding with contrasting ebony ring-turnings. In superb condition, the chair would have been made for a cello or harp player.
