Early 19th Century Gilt & Patinated Bronze Mantel Clock by F. Baetens
The clock is an eight-day chain fusee timepiece by “F. Baetens, 23 Gerrard St, London” with an anchor escapement movement and decoratively turned pillars. The gilded engine turned mounts that adorn the bracket clock with a gilt brass swan that sits above an enamel decorated dial. The dial with Roman numerals is fitted with the original clock hands and the surround is set off by a gilded floral swag against the bronze patination of the rest of the case. The bracket clock is raised on gilt brass engine turned and etched bun feet.
