George III Adam period library armchair.
The mahogany top rail is fluted and decorated with trailing bell flowers below a carved leaf motif to each corner of the chair. The leather padded arms with single fluted and hollowed channels terminate with ‘C’ scrolled acanthus leaf decoration and supported on raked back uprights. The stuff-over seat is upholstered in a traditional way with horse hair and the desk chair is covered in a faded green leather.
The chair is raised on block fluted and tapered front legs with carved oval patera medallions and shaped toes with solid splayed mahogany legs to the reverse.
