George II 'Cuban' Mahogany Card Table

The folding concave top with a break front edge and rounded corners is exceedingly pleasant. The gate leg action to the rear bak leg allows the playing surface to be revealed. The mahogany frieze is shaped in reverse to the folding tops outline with a crisply carved inverted shell to the centre.

The Irish card table is raised on cabriole style legs with shell and trailing bell decoration to the knees. The tapering legs terminate on hairy paw feet. The table is compact, chic and elegant, it retains a good colour and is early 18th century antique piece of furniture.
