The tea caddy has kingwood cross-banding and boxwood edging and is inlaid with west Indian Satinwood veneers with a centre inlaid oval patera. The frieze to the lid is finely inlaid and sits above floral marquetry to the front of the tea caddy and is inlaid with harewood, boxwood and satinwood. The more unusual feature is that the caddy is inlaid to the reverse with harewood and boxwood bell husks.
