18th century George III Carved Chippendale Wall Mirror.
The mercury mirror plate is 18th century but not the original to this frame. The mythical hoho bird surmounted on a rocky outcrop above a waterfall and ’C’ scrolls and flanked with stiff leaf carving and open fret carving. The Chippendale frame would have originally been gilded but unusually because the pitched pine frame is rather lively in grain we decided to leave the ‘Grained’ stone colour effect in tact. The 18th century Chippendale frame is asymmetrical in design and carved with finesse throughout.
