Regency Ormolu & Gilt Metal Dolphin Inkstand in the manner of Thomas Messenger & Sons

The inkstand is in the form of a hinged scallop-shell and retains the original wells and recesses to the interior. It has an ormolu mounted crimson red variegated marble square section base with a crisply carved foliate collar above a gilded plinth.
