The hinged top is divided in two and opens up to reveal a leather top writing surface above a satinwood inlaid frieze. The frieze has two concealed lopers that support the writing flaps and a concealed fitted drawer. The lozenge-shaped decoration to the frieze is on all four sides and the frieze is fitted with the original gilt brass handles. The inlaid tapered legs stand on the original gilt brass castors and are fitted with an elegant shaped shelf.
